Senegal 2023

From a young age Muslims are taught that the Bible has been changed and corrupted. That the Quran is the only holy book they need has been drilled into them all their lives. Muslims believe everything they need to know about God, his prophets, and the way of righteousness is in the Quran. So, for them, the Bible cannot be trusted and studying the Bible risks being misled or deceived from following the right path of Allah in Islam.

PRAISE

“The Lord has made known his salvation;
he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.” (Psalm 98:2)

KINGDOM COME

“He told them another parable. ’The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened.’” (Matthew 13:33)

Thank you Lord that you delight in using simple, ordinary people to display Your glory and communicate your redemptive purposes. May the yeast of your word and your kingdom steadily expand into every corner of Senegal.

PRAY THE BOOK OF ACTS

“The Lord opened her [Lydia’s] heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. And after she was baptized, and her household as well…” (Acts 16:14-15)

“And he [the Philippian jailer] took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.” (Acts 16:33).

Father, we ask you to repeat Lydia and the Philippian jailer’s stories over and over again in every region of Senegal. Ignite a desire for your righteousness in hundreds of “Lydias” in Senegal and bring them into contact with Christians who will walk with them into solid faith in Messiah Jesus.

PRAY THE HALL OF FAITH

“By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, bowing in worship over the head of his staff.” (Hebrews 11:21)

May every believer in Senegal have spiritual “children” that they can, by faith, impart the same blessing to—that there may be a multitude of multiplying disciples in the land. (Genesis 49:16) May these Christians obey your command to make disciples of every people group in Senegal.

PRAYER

God, it is your Word that saves us and transforms us. Give thousands of Muslims in Senegal dreams and visions that will guide them to your Word. Give them courage to overcome the barriers that are keeping them from reading and hearing your Word. Father, give missionaries and national Christians creativity and perseverance in making your oral and written word abundantly available all over Senegal.
