Of one thing we are convinced. If we’re to see a movement to Christ in Senegal, we need to pray as we have never prayed before. And we need many others to join us in interceding on behalf of the unreached peoples of Senegal, particularly for the Wolof and Peul. With fewer than 0.003% known Christ followers, they are not just unreached, they don’t want to be reached and they resist being reached. They are content being Muslims. They are not looking for anything different.
There is a battle raging in the spiritual realm for the eternal souls of the Senegalese people. As disciples of Jesus, we are not to be bystanders in this battle, but active warriors. God doesn’t call us to engage in this battle with physical weapons or superior intellect but with His Word in prayer and fasting.
Every documented gospel movement has been preceded by a prayer movement involving national Christians and/or outsiders praying hours a day, fasting regularly, and holding prayer meetings and all-night prayer vigils.
“Clap your hands, all peoples!
Shout to God with loud songs of joy!” (Psalm 47:1)
“Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:4)
May the integrity and humility of Christians in Senegal testify to the power and truth of Your Kingdom. We pray for Christ-like humility to define your Church in this nation. Teach us to follow Jesus in the way he modeled humility and selflessness.
Paul was told by Ananias: “for you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard.” (Acts 22:15)
We pray for every believer in Senegal to be equipped to share their story (testimony) and your story (the Gospel). We pray that every time the Gospel is shared in Senegal that it would come from the overflow of the speaker’s experience with you, the living God. May our testimonies be authentic and derived from the reality of our lives and our faith in Christ.
“By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.” (Hebrews 11:28)
We pray for many in Senegal to put their faith in Christ’s blood that was poured out for them. Let the power of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection convince Muslims to put their faith in him and be freed from the legalism and false hope of Islam, and from the great Deceiver.
Lord, we are praying fervently for a gospel movement here in Senegal, especially among the unreached Wolof and Peul people groups. Touch and energize the hearts of your people around the world to join us in interceding on behalf of these proud and friendly, but lost without Christ peoples.
