The majority of Muslims who have come to faith in Jesus have had some kind of vision or dream that set them on a path of searching that eventually led them to Jesus. Their stories differ widely, but a dream often ignited their journey toward faith in Christ.
Some dream of a man they clearly recognize as Jesus calling them to come to Him. For many, a warm and loving person calls them to follow, but they don’t know who that person is. Others dream of a book that contains messages of life that lead to true peace. To some, an angel appears warning them that the road they are traveling leads to destruction and are shown a different path to take, not knowing where it will lead.
These dreams don’t provide a full understanding of Jesus or the salvation and peace He offers. It may be months or years later when the person realizes the Bible is the book he dreamt about or Jesus is the man who appeared in his dream. But, if their dream or vision is from Yahweh, they eventually find Jesus.
“Bless our God, O peoples;
let the sound of his praise be heard,” (Psalm 66:8)
“Jesus said, ’Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’” (Matthew 19:14)
We pray that nothing would hinder true seekers from discovering the truth and entering into Your Kingdom—not gender, age, socioeconomic status, nationality, or education level. May these seekers come humbly and ready to submit to the Lord and follow him wherever he takes them, as a child gladly goes with someone she knows and trusts.
“And looking intently at the council, Paul said, ’Brothers, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day.’” (Acts 23:1)
As believers in Senegal, abide in the true and living Vine, may their lives continually grow into Christ’s life until they, too, can make such a claim as Paul made to the council. May their consistency and integrity in daily life shine in their families and communities and in God’s good time lead many Senegalese to faith in Jesus.
“By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned.” (Hebrews 11:29)
We pray for God’s miraculous and powerful works recorded in the Bible to stir believers in Senegal to live by faith in ever-increasing measure. Help them trust in the God of Moses and Aaron, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen!
Lord, please bless Muslim men and women with dreams and visions that will send them on spiritual journeys in which they eventually discover true hope, love, and redemption in Jesus the Messiah.
